I was always told to visualize my attacker while doing kata so it would be real — so it would be “living kata.” But I couldn’t do it because I was given only worthless bunkai to visualize. Then I became a student of George Dillman, and he showed me realistic applications, and (more importantly) how to see the applications for myself. Now, I can’t “NOT VIZUALIZE” in my kata. This short video gives some idea if what I see when I perform Bassai.
